Minify image (fine control, small file size)

Leave the "Preserve Aspect" selected, but turn on "Sharpen" for sharpening (fine control, high quality)

Make sure that "Apply" is selected

Leave "Highlight color" selected (for use with the "Curves" and "Hue/Saturation" tools)

Leave "Tile" selected (for use with the "Curves" and "Hue/Saturation" tools)

Leave "Composite" selected (for use with the "Curves" and "Hue/Saturation" tools)

Adjust the "Gamma" slider

Leave "Color" selected (for use with the "Curves" and "Hue/Saturation" tools)

"Add borders" is selected by default. You can deselect it, or uncheck the "Colorize Black and White" checkbox to turn it off.

Leave "Remove Background" selected, but deselect "Paste Into Place" if you want to place the image with a background.

5. If you want to use the images as finished for social media or websites, you can change "Resample Image" to "Fit". Choose "Crop to Selection" and "Fill with Background" (if they are not already selected). Click "Save" and then "Open".

6. You can always make changes to the resulting image using "Edit" > "Undo" > "Redo" until you are happy with the result.
