No. 5,941,855.
Apparatus and a method for providing a lubricating mist in a humidified breathing circuit are known.
In U.S. Pat. No. 5,941,855, there is described apparatus for providing a lubricating mist in a humidified breathing circuit where the apparatus includes a source of compressed gas, a carbon dioxide absorber having at least one output port, an outlet nozzle having an inner end and an outer end and also having a supply conduit between the inner end and the outer end and also having two exit ports for delivering the mist at the inner end of the outlet nozzle, a mixing chamber having an inlet port in communication with the supply conduit to receive the mist discharged by the outlet nozzle and a discharge port in communication with the mixing chamber to discharge the mist, and a valve for regulating the flow of gas to and from the mixing chamber and also a valve for regulating the flow of mist from the discharge port.
In a method for providing a lubricating mist in a humidified breathing circuit, compressed air is admitted into a canister containing a concentrated solution of a lubricant, carbon dioxide is absorbed from the air, the mist is formed in a water box, flow is supplied from the water box to the breathing circuit and a mixture of lubricant and mist is discharged from the water box into the breathing circuit.
Such a method is known from applicant's earlier U.S. Pat. No. 5,941,855.
While such a method is satisfactory for its intended purpose, it has been found that the method can be improved on by providing an improved arrangement of apparatus to provide the lubricant in the breathing circuit.A conventional rotary wing aircraft, such as an airplane, is provided with a control wheel coupled by actuation means to the directional control surfaces of the aircraft in order to control the action of these directional control surfaces in response to the pilot's commands.
