After the Release of Part 3, Vol. 1It is strange to think that my next release will be 18 years ago today. Waking up to a routine of sorting out the mail, eating well and working out three times a week is no longer on the radar. I’ve come to realize that having that little budget that is fun, especially since I have so much frugality and the TRS doesn’t cover the cost of many of my purchases, actually helps my budgeting! It is fun to be excited about a new book coming out but there are so many books that I’m planning to read this month that I have to hold back from buying one right away.

Even more fun are the questions from the listeners. I’m afraid that I have too many of them that I won’t get to all this month. Let’s start with the man from the North Coast. He heard me mention the word, “Tatoo” and wanted to know what it meant. He said it means a lifelong friend. I’ve heard this word used to describe people but I never knew it meant something so special to you.

Another question was about living a frugal lifestyle. How can I get my family to be more frugal as well? This was a tough one because I’m the one who has been frugal all my life. I had to think about this for a while. Here are a few things that I do that are very frugal:

Buy groceries once a week and freeze. Even though we used to buy groceries twice a week, I buy groceries once and freeze them all. We can add that to our meal planning for the week too. This keeps us from going out every week and we end up with more food in our pantry.

Only use the free items in the newspaper. We were used to having the newspaper delivered to our home. My husband would read it while I would use them and then throw them away. We began delivering the newspapers and started saving the coupons right away. Now we use the free items at the local grocery store when they announce special offers.

Use the public transportation. We take the bus to work and it is cheaper than the private transportation. We also use the public transportation to go to church. We both work full time so we

(CNN) A teenager who was called a "god" by his mother as he was beaten by his schoolmates told British police how he endured the "intense" attack after he responded to harassment that had been going on for years.

"I was told by my mother, 'What did you do to my son?'," said 14-year-old Mujahid Islam, who suffered severe bruising and a broken nose.

Mujahid's mother, a nurse, called authorities for help after she heard the boy was being abused by fellow students. But when police arrived at school, Mujahid was rushed home by his mother while three students were detained.

Islam said he fought back and told his mother police would be investigating. His mother asked why he was fighting, and he said he had fought back because "they were about to kill him."

"I wanted to make them feel that it meant nothing to me," the boy said.

After police had arrived, Islam's mother tried to stop him from leaving by placing her arm around him, he said. Police told her to let him go and gave him a verbal warning, he said.

But a few days later, Islam was again confronted by a group of students who had been harassing him, he said. When he refused to get into a game of football with them, they began to "punch me in the head and they knocked my teeth out," he said.

"I was mad at that point. I was on a mission. The police, I was like, 'I'm gonna get them and I'm gonna kill them,' and I was gonna throw bricks at them."

Islam said his mother tried to talk him out of the altercation, but he said he told her to "stay out of it."

Police were called the second time when one of his attackers began beating Islam with a cricket bat, the teen said. When he attempted to push the boy away, the boy's friends began to help him, he said.

The brawl continued on a nearby street, Islam said. As he walked home, he tried to ask a female student for help, but she laughed at him, he said.

She then punched him on the side of his face, and he fell to the ground, he said.

On Monday, the teen was called into his headteacher's office to discuss the matter, he said.
