## Photoshop Elements

Photoshop Elements is a Microsoft Windows program that is designed to work with photographs and digital images, but also works well with scanned or computer-generated images. As with other Photoshop components, Elements has a simple interface, and it is easy to edit photographs using Elements.

In spite of its simple interface and lack of photoshop-like tools and functions, Elements has enough features for virtually every casual photographer. Elements is less powerful and capable than Photoshop, but it is free. You can download Elements from the same sources as Photoshop.

Adobe promotes Photoshop Elements as a way to learn about digital imaging, and it is easy to pick up that knowledge in the program. In fact, it's easy to see the best in Elements. A new user is presented with a welcoming page with simple prompts, one of which is "New," in which you can click on a number of choices: "New Photo Album," "New Web Gallery," "New Video," and "New Drawing."

The new folder that allows you to create a new folder is great. From it, you can drag images into it. You can also drag multiple images from within Windows Explorer to the new folder.

After a few minutes, you'll be greeted with the New Document window. The window opens with a thumbnail of your first photo; to the right of that thumbnail you'll see two tabs for the two main tools in the program: Edit and Image. You can select either tab from the drop-down menu on the top left of the window. Use the cursor to move photos and duplicate them in the window.

Editing your photos is straightforward. The Photoshop-like editing tools are large icons and fairly intuitive. You click on an icon to activate it. It will then provide an editing function: once activated, you can move the image, resize it, blur the image, alter the colors, invert the colors, and flip the image horizontally and vertically.

The program also has useful features. The Elements Organizer features dates for when an image was taken, along with the names of the people who were on the images, when the picture was taken, the location where the image was taken, and when it was shared. You can

Think you know all there is to know about the device you use? Maybe you’ve got a few tips that you swear by? Then you need to read this.

You might have heard about new phones being announced and debuting this year, and you might have heard about all the stuff happening with Apple products or Android phone. You might even know that Samsung is the number one smartphone manufacturer in the world, and that it’s also number one in the smartphone market (though really, who’s counting?).

If you’ve picked up a smart device within the past couple of years, chances are that you’ve picked up a Samsung phone—and that’s not just my biased opinion, it’s backed up with some data.

According to numbers from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech, in the third quarter of 2016, Samsung ranked number one in the smartphone market, which also includes a small percentage of “dumb” phones. The company also ranked as the number one smartphone manufacturer in the world, and number one in the United States. In Japan, Samsung became the only brand to reach the top three.

Admittedly, this is not a new feat for Samsung, as it has been the number one smartphone manufacturer in the world for the past three years. It also isn’t the first time that it has been the number one handset maker for the quarter, as it has topped the charts for the past three years. In fact, that’s a truly impressive feat, and it’s not something to scoff at—but it’s not nothing, either.

Why the success of the company? At this point, the reasons for its worldwide success are a bit harder to come by. There are a few reasons, though it is because of its technological prowess that it has been the number one phone manufacturer in the world, as well as the number one smartphone manufacturer. Samsung is known for their super affordable yet highly functional Android smartphones that come with a great selection of relatively cutting edge features, even if they are not always the most intuitive. Samsung’s also able to release one or two flagship smartphones at the beginning of each year, and they’re almost always packed with some top notch features and cool new things to do with that phone.

In the Tools menu, choose Photoshop Elements (on the Mac) or Photoshop, Elements (on Windows) to open the Photoshop Elements Brush Panel. After you’ve opened the Brush Panel, you can use the Brush Tool to create a new brush, select the Brush Tool, and start painting.

Photoshop comes with a variety of filter effects. To access them, choose Filter, Blur Gallery. You’ll see the following options, listed in descending order of productivity:


The Filter menu offers a wide range of image-editing options. These are shown in the following list:




The Crop Tool allows you to snap to an exact grid point and then drag diagonally to crop. The Crop Tool also crops images so you can get rid of unwanted areas.

A Horizontal or Vertical Rectangular Selection also can be used to crop images. The Selection Tool – or Shape Selection Tool – lets you drag a freehand line to select an area. It’s also possible to select an area by holding down the Shift or Ctrl keys while using the Selection Tool.

The Magnetic Lasso Tool selects objects by looking for patterns and edges. It’s very fast and easy to select objects, so it’s a good tool to use for grabbing small areas to paste into your image. For more about the Lasso Tool, see Steps for Selecting Objects and Cropping Images.

Text or numbers can be dragged onto your image, where you enter them. The text appears in the current color. You can color text, or use text-to-color conversion to change a color.
It’s possible to change any of the text settings, including the font, font size, font style, font weight, and line spacing. To change the text settings, use the Type Tool (Options menu), the Type Control panel, or press Ctrl+T.
The Tools palette provides access to a small selection of tools, including Pen, Pencil, Paint Bucket, and Lasso Tools. Each one can be used for a different effect.
