This program is meant to be a program much like The TV Meta Data Finder but modified to search through movies only instead of TV shows.
It works by scanning through your entire Movies folder or your selected Movies folder looking for movie files with the accompanying movie cover as a file named movie.jpg. Each of the found movie files are searched for the Movie title and the Director if available. If the chosen folder does not have any movie files it will try to find a single or set of movie files in the Niles folder and scan it in the same way. This, of course, assumes that the Niles folder does not have any movie files of its own.

* Both (selecting the folder on your desktop or a folder on your My Documents) the desktop or the My Documents folder
* Searching through all your Movies folder (or a selected Movies folder)
* Filtering out Non-Movie files (or Tv show folders)
* If the folder you select contains a selected movies files (or tv show folders) it will try to search through each of the chosen non-movie files one by one for the movie file.
* Can make a selection when the program is first opened (of movies, tv show folders or non-movie files)
* Some movie info can only be extracted from movie files. This includes the movie title

This is one of the applications that I have set up to scan through all of the meta data files I have on my computer.
When you right click on the sidebar title bar of the application (it can be moved to the top of the screen by clicking the "reorder sidebar buttons" button) you will see an "Actions" button with the next two options (there are also some others):
A) "Refresh Scanned Movies Only" this will refresh the scanned movies only and won't add any new ones.
B) "Scan Movies from Directory" this will scan through all the files in the specified directory. It will look for any movies with the "*.MPG" or "*.MP4" extension. The Meta Data Finder will scan all of the files in the directory. If it finds any movies with the "*.MOV" or "*.MPEG" extension in that directory it will search for the movie within that directory and add the "*.MOV" or "*.MPEG" in the "Movie title" and "Modify date" fields.
If you are one of the thousands of people who have multiple copies of movies all of the same name it is now much easier to find what you are looking for in the data base. First click on the Search button and enter the filename or characters you want to search for. The application will display the number of results it found. This number can vary as it is based on how the application can search the same data base for duplicate files.
The "Scan Movies from Directory" action will only search for movies and not data. Any non-movie files will not be scanned.
Once the movie has been added in the data base the Backgrounds.jpg will also be added to the scan.
If the Meta Data Finder determines that the Movie doesn't have any meta data to add it will simply display the Movie's filename in the "Scan" list.
The data base will also be updated with the Movie's information. So you can quickly and easily find all of your movies in your meta data.
The Backgrounds.jpg is an overlay file that is set to display at the beginning of each movie. This file is basically a place holder for the movie image. It does no harm to add it.
There are some advance settings for this application. Click on the "Help" button at the bottom of the screen and you will see the description. Click on the "More Information" button at the top of the

The Movie Meta Data Finder application was designed to be a program much like The TV Meta Data Finder. But it is set up to scan through movies only. Currently only adds backdrop.jpg to all foders that have a single (or set of) movie file(s) in it.
Movie Meta Data Finder Features:

Supports browsing the file structure, scanning for foders, adding the backdrop.jpg image to a foder, and more. No editing of movies is supported.

Scans a folder containing.png-folder for.png-folders - addses them all in all foders
and removes them

Allows you to decide what folder(s) you want to add the backdrop.jpg to (by default, all foders)

You can have multiple folders for multiple movies

You can scan for a single movie or for multiple movies

For a single movie, you can add a single folder, or you can add a folder with several subfolders (for example, *thumb* and *frees*-adds all the subfolders)

You can add the backdrop.jpg to more than one foder at a time

You can preview the movie, then decide to add the backdrop.jpg to the foder

You can decide whether the program will make an icon on the desktop

You can decide whether the program will add the foder to the Windows Explorer, or keep them in the same location

There are many options to choose from, including how many folders, or subfolders, to add the backdrop.jpg to, and how many movies in each subfolder

The program saves your settings in a configuration file, so you can start a new session with the same settings

If you don't like the way the backdrop is added to the foders, then you can change the settings

In addition to scanning through the entire folder to find them. The program also has a 'list by name' option. Simply put, you can browse through your files and then you can select an option to make everything fit in your foder.

You can use a filenetwork to share photos, and not just files. With the Find Shared Photo In Your Foders, you can find the shared photos on the other computer easily. The program allows you to set the filenetwork type of the other computer. Find Shared Photo In Your Fod

Here we try to see what other programs like The TV Meta Data Finder and The Movie Meta Data Finder do and find different things.

Would be nice if a scan was more than once, just to make sure you have the best picture/one. Of course, this has to be done by hand.

So maybe the scan is done twice, once in movie 1, once in movie 2.

Well, I was working on adding in The Movie Meta Data Finder. But it didn't work right. I will be sure to upload a new version very soon. I was just busy writing and editing this thing for days (ok I'm lying - about 8 hours). But I'm writing this on a 64 GB flash drive! And then I was going to install it. But I just ran out of time for that.

One thing that I'm working on is adding movies to The Movie Meta Data Finder. But I need more people (the people who use the program). There are about 5,000 (maybe 5,100) movies in The Movie Meta Data Finder - but there are only about 4,000 that I have added myself.
