Reverb is an audio utility for the Linux operating system, compatible with many sound cards and sound libraries. The application is a general-purpose tool for creating multi-channel mix and remix software. Among other features, Reverb includes basic 4D-spatialization effects that should be helpful in improving the sound of audio material, using only a few low-amplitude controls.

The SeaMonkey team is happy to announce SeaMonkey 1.0.3. This version of the popular free web browser for Linux, Windows, and Mac operating systems contains numerous improvements, as well as a number of new features and small usability improvements. The most important new features are:

(1) A Russian translation into the Cyrillic script has been added (and the Cyrillic script fonts are also now included).

(2) A number of enhancements in the audio and video player code have been done. This should provide better latency when using Flash with SeaMonkey and on those platforms where this is problematic. The audio and video players now support VP8 (Google’s WebM format) video and H.264 video.

(3) SeaMonkey is no longer dependent on libxml2. The SeaMonkey code has been updated to use the GNOME 2.31 XML library for reading in the user interface config files.

(4) Another major upgrade to the SeaMonkey “firefox-type” interface has been done: the Bookmarks, History, and Download Manager views have been rewritten to use GTK+.

(5) A number of other bug fixes have been made.

A new version of Csound is available. For those who have not tried Csound, it is an interactive sound synthesis environment suitable for live performance, creation of soundscapes, composition, and student learning. Csound is part of the Csound Lab Project, managed by the Csound development team at the University of Michigan. With this release, the Csound Lab Project is no longer in beta. Csound may be installed on your hard drive, and it is then accessed via a networked file server. This is, of course, the fastest way to build complete music systems. For more information on how to install Csound, read the instructions below.
Because of the varying ways of starting Csound, and the variances of audio performance depending on the type of server, the first issue you face is obtaining the proper drivers for your computer and audio hardware.
Two options exist for obtaining drivers for your server, and other software.

This CD has the Csound files on it, along with a sample-library editor. If you follow the instructions in the README file you can have this CD installed and your audio hardware ready to go, in just a few minutes.

To download the drivers you need to make sure you have installed SunOS or a BSD operating system.
