I am TAKAMIN, the game director of Tarnished. We, at Tarnished, are working very hard to develop an action RPG, and I want to introduce the story of the game to you in the form of a text.

The world setting of Tarnished is the “Lands Between.” The Lands Between is the vast, open world where gods and people coexist, and is a world in which good and evil always fight. Humans and gods, known as “Seers,” coexist there.

However, since everything and everyone is mortal, the Lands Between is open to vicious battles. Because of this, an era of constant conflicts has descended, and a massive civil war between the gods is ongoing.

As a Seer, one who can see the future and gain influence over others, you are in the middle of this civil war. You are a child soldier fighting in the army of your god, and the civil war serves as a means to secure your power. A war waged by the gods, fought between the forces of good and evil, and divided into a heaven and hell.

Tarnished is the story of a human girl who, alone and by her own devices, fights against the world of gods. A girl who fights to save her god, but who is herself alone in a world of gods.

However, you know the following…

You are not alone.

As a child of the Lands Between, a magical figure known as a “Beacon” walks with you. But this is a world where boundaries are clearly defined, and you are not supposed to meet a being of this kind.

In order to protect you and live with you, the Beacon is hiding something. It shields you from dangers and keeps you safe…

… but if you know the true reason, the Beacon is also running away, the only one who knows the truth.

And so, it is your story, and how you deal with the world…

The place where the story begins, and the world where a battle is raging.
